Tracker & Log Templates for Google Sheets
This is the catch-all grid: tracker and log templates for the things you count that are not money — or only partly money. Habits, reading, mileage, subscriptions, collections: if it happens more than once and you would like proof, there is a sheet shape for it here, downloaded free as .xlsx for Google Sheets or Excel.
What a tracker template does in Google Sheets
Every tracker template is the same machine wearing different columns: a date, the thing that happened, and a number or a checkmark. The value shows up around week three, when the rows are long enough to reveal a pattern — streaks, gaps, averages, the trend you would otherwise argue about from memory. Google Sheets adds the part paper never had: totals that update themselves and a file that is wherever your phone is.
Daily logs, weekly logs and running totals
A log template differs from a tracker only in ambition: logs record that something happened — a trip, a payment, a maintenance visit — while trackers usually chase a target. The useful design choice is cadence: daily logs for what slips memory by evening, weekly for routines, one-per-event for the rare and important. A running total pinned at the top keeps the answer visible without scrolling.
Money logs that stay on the record side
Several templates here log money without budgeting it: bills marked paid, savings set aside, balances owed, miles driven for work. They are deliberately plain records — amounts you enter, totals you read. None of them score your finances or tell you what to pay first; for the planning side of money there are budget templates and expense trackers with exactly that job.
How to pick a tracker you'll still fill in
Pick by entry cost: if logging the thing takes longer than the thing itself, the sheet dies by Thursday. One tap, one row, one number is the sustainable shape. Duplicate the tab when a new month or project starts and keep the old ones as the archive — the history is the reward. First time opening an .xlsx file? The opening guide takes about a minute.
