A packing list on paper tells you what to bring; Valixa also tells you how far along you are. Every item carries a category, a quantity and a Packed mark, and a counter at the top keeps the score: packed, total, and the percentage in between. When it reads 100, you can zip the suitcase with a clear conscience.

What the packing list template covers

The Packing List tab is one table: Category, Item, Qty, Packed and Notes. The category column is a dropdown fed by the second tab, with eight groups along the lines of clothing, toiletries, electronics and documents. Packed is a single-option dropdown (Yes), and the formatting responds to it: the whole row turns soft green the moment an item is in the bag. The header does the counting with a COUNTIF for packed items, a COUNTA for everything on the list, and a percentage that turns green at exactly 100.

The Lists tab holds the categories. They're plain cells, so renaming "Electronics" to "Camera gear" or adding a "Kids" group is just typing.

How to use this Google Sheet packing list

Open the file in Google Sheets (the XLSX opening guide shows the import step by step) and adjust the categories if your trip needs different ones. List what you're bringing with quantities, then pack with the sheet open: every Yes turns a row green and moves the counter. The sample list has fourteen everyday items, half of them already marked, so the formats show themselves before you start. Anything that can't go in yet — the charger you still use, the toiletries you grab last — sits in plain sight as an unpacked row.

A travel packing list you can reuse for every trip

Duplicate the tab and the list becomes a system: one sheet per person, per suitcase, or per trip type. A copy named "Beach" and a copy named "Work trip" hold their own item sets, and clearing the Packed column resets either one for the next departure. Quantities matter more than they seem: "socks ×6" prevents the recount at the hotel.

The vacation packing list in 12 languages

Valixa ships in twelve languages, with categories, sample items and tab names translated in each download. It closes the loop with the other travel sheets: dates and plans in the travel itinerary template, money in the travel budget template, and the wider collection under travel templates for Google Sheets.
