Kalenix is a free monthly calendar that rebuilds itself. Type a year and a month into two cells and the grid redraws on the spot: day numbers shift to the right weekday, leftover days from the neighboring months fade to gray, and today gets a lime highlight. You download one file and keep it for every month between 2020 and 2040.

Inside the Kalenix monthly calendar template

The Monthly Calendar tab holds the grid: six weeks by seven days, Sunday to Saturday. Each week is a pair of rows — a slim one with the day number and a tall one where you write events. The mechanics run on three formulas. DATE(Year, Month, 1) anchors the month you picked, a WEEKDAY offset finds the Sunday that opens the first week, and from there each of the 42 cells adds one day to the previous one. The title above the grid comes from a TEXT formula, so it always names the month and year you are looking at. Conditional formatting dims any date that falls outside the active month and marks the current day. Both input cells are validated: years from 2020 to 2040, months from 1 to 12, no typos slipping through.

The second tab, Notes, is a plain list with date, event and notes columns — a quick agenda for the month when you don't want to squeeze text into the grid.

How to use this Google Sheets monthly calendar

Open the XLSX in Google Sheets (the import guide shows three ways to do it), then change Year and Month. The whole grid reorganizes, gray filler days included. Write events in the wide row under each day, jot longer items in Notes, and duplicate the tab whenever you want to freeze a month and move on to the next. The sample copy ships set to June 2026 with a few placeholder events so you can see the formats before you clear them.

A 2026 calendar template that still works in 2027

Most downloadable calendars hardcode their dates: a 2026 calendar template is twelve fixed grids, and next January you go hunting for the 2027 edition. Kalenix skips that cycle. Because every date is computed from the Year cell, the file you save now is also next year's calendar — same link, same formatting, two cells to update. If you keep separate sheets per month, the duplicated tabs become your archive.

One monthly calendar, twelve languages

Like every template on Sheetorial, this monthly calendar ships in twelve languages. Switch the site language and the download swaps with it: tab names, labels and sample events come translated, and dates follow that language's conventions. Browse the rest of the Google Sheets calendar templates for other layouts, or pair the month view with the day schedule template when a single square per day stops being enough.
